Our bikes are chosen specifically for comfortable riding on the coast and around town. We also offer accessories like helmets, baskets, and child seats.

What kind of bike is appropriate for the Emerald Isle Bike Path?

Emerald Isle is largely flat and coastal. The Emerald Path is an 11-mile paved, multi-use greenway that runs the full length of Emerald Isle, making it suitable for various bike types. Since the path is paved and relatively flat, you have flexibility in your choice. Isle Cycle carries mostly single-speed cruisers. If you're looking to ride a little further or are used to hand brakes, the geared cruiser may be more your speed!

How long can I rent a bike?

Bike rentals from Isle Cycle are typically booked by the week, which works perfectly for vacation stays in Emerald Isle. Shorter rental periods may be available depending on availability—starting from a half day. We can also offer longer rentals for your longer stays.

What comes with my rental?

At Isle Cycle, all adult bicycle rentals come with a combination lock, a basket, and a recommended helmet (to be picked up and sized in the store). Because of the smaller size of the children's bikes, only certain models can fit a basket. If you're staying in Emerald Isle, delivery is also free!

Yes, Isle Cycle offers Pedego and Urtopia electric bike (e-bike) rentals in Emerald Isle, NC. Our e-bikes make it easy to explore the island, ride longer distances, and enjoy the coast without overexertion. They’re a popular option for families and riders of all experience levels. Renters must be over 16 to operate the e-bikes.

Do I need experience to ride an e-bike?

No experience is needed to ride an electric bike from Isle Cycle. If you know how to ride a bicycle, you can ride an e-bike! Our team will show you how everything works before you ride, and the pedal-assist system feels very natural—just like riding a regular bike with a boost.

Can we take our rental bikes on the beach?

No, Isle Cycle rentals are never allowed on the beach.

The harsh sand and saltwater cause damage to the bikes which will result in damage fees being assessed up to and including the full replacement cost of the bike.

Do you deliver bike rentals to vacation homes or condos?

Accepted Answer

Yes, Isle Cycle delivers bike rentals throughout Emerald Isle directly to vacation homes, beach houses, and condos. Delivery and pick-up makes it easy to start enjoying your bikes as soon as you arrive.

If your rental bike is being delivered on Emerald Isle, delivery is FREE. If you're in Salter Path, Indian Beach, Atlantic Beach, or the mainland, there will be a delivery fee assessed. Please call for delivery rates.

For Pedego Electric Bike rentals, there is always a delivery fee.

When are rental bikes delivered?

Bike deliveries from Isle Cycle are typically scheduled to arrive before the 4:00 check-in for most vacation rentals in Emerald Isle.

Why wasn't a helmet delivered with my bike?

Due to the importance of a good fit, we cannot deliver helmets. We want to make sure your helmet is comfortable and secure, so head on over to our shop!

How do I get my lock combination

Accepted Answer

Isle Cycle typically calls 24-hours before your reservation is scheduled in Emerald Isle. The team will take final payment and will provide the lock combination at that time. Usually, the combination is also texted to the primary phone number on the reservation, as a back-up.

Where is my booking confirmation?

Accepted Answer

Whether booked online or in the store, you should receive a booking confirmation. If you haven't seen your confirmation, please check your spam or junk folders. If you still do not see a confirmation, please call us at 252-888-5858 so that we can ensure that we have the correct email address on file.

I put my credit card number in when I booked online, but I haven't been charged. Do I still have a reservation?

Accepted Answer

When making your booking, you are asked to provide a credit card to confirm your reservation. Like a hotel, this merely holds the reservation. You will not be charged until the day your reservation is set to begin. We will call that morning to take final payment. We will need your credit card number again at that time as we do not save unsecured credit card information, for your protection.
